THE PROJECT
SUBURBAN
LOGO DESIGN
This logo was created for Suburban Orthodox Toras Chaim, a synagogue located in Baltimore, Maryland. The logo reflects the new modern direction the synagogue is heading in, while still speaking to tradition and the past.

01
Suburban was drawn to symbols like: candles, flames, light, books, the Torah, hands, Roman architecture, and scrolls.
BRAINSTORM

These four images were my first attempt to develop a logo.
- The first logo is meant to represent a fun and playful view of a Roman fire column, using soft lines that are warm and inviting.
- The second logo resembles
a Torah scroll that is used in worship. This is meant to
look classical, but also sleek and contemporary.
- The last two logos represent the flame of a candle, which speaks to spiritual growth. These last logos are also more organic than the others, which communicates elements of Suburbans's brand DNA.
02
DEVELOPMENT

Suburban's final logo reflects a Roman column; something traditional, but in a contemporary way. It speaks to looking forward to a new direction, but also looking back to the past.
03
FINAL LOGO

Keeping in line with Suburban's colors of orange and blue, I created these variations for their new logo.
